A Cardiff MP has had his say over controversial plans to build a mosque in a busy area of the city.
Cardiff West MP Kevin Brennan has submitted an official letter to Cardiff council noting concerns he has received from constituents about plans for the mosque in Canton.
In his House of Commons headed letter to Cardiff Council chair of planning, Councillor Michael Michael, Mr Brennan said: “I write to pass on the concerns of a number of constituents who came to see me in my constituency office concerning planning application 16/02196/MJR.
“The residents expressed their concern about the impact of this application on traffic and parking in the area.
“They pointed out that the previous business at this premises, Ian Williams Ltd, generated only light traffic.
“This application, for a place of worship, on a site very likely to be mainly accessed by car would represent a very significant increase in traffic.”
