Kevin Brennan (Cardiff West) (Lab): The Prime Minister promised to cut the number of Government special advisers, and the Chancellor wants to limit pay increases for public sector employees to 1%. How does he square that with his now having 26 more special advisers than in 2010 and the 42% pay increase for the Chancellor’s own personal image consultant?
The Prime Minister: There are fewer special advisers under this Government than there were under the last Government.
